Application Received — Thank You
We appreciate your interest in joining the MATT+HANNA team. We’re excited to review your application!
What You Get:
Customized 4-Week Curriculum
We don't use templates. We craft a detailed, evolving plan tailored to your dog's unique temperament and your long-term goals. This is ideal for addressing multiple, complex issues concurrently (e.g., Leash Reactivity and poor Recall).
Sequential Skill Building
The four sessions are strategically spaced (typically 1-2 weeks apart) to teach new skills, allow you time to practice, and then advance the training in the next session for maximum retention and success.
Behavior Modification for Life
Focus on deep-rooted problems like Separation Anxiety, Resource Guarding, or Fear/Aggression. We provide the necessary education (Systematic Desensitization, Counter-Conditioning) to change your dog's emotional response, not just their actions.
Real-World Proofing
We move beyond basic commands to practice in environments where you need reliability most (e.g., door greetings, local parks, high-distraction walks), guaranteeing your dog responds everywhere.
Dedicated Trainer Support
Receive exclusive email and phone support between your scheduled sessions to troubleshoot challenges, guide your practice, and ensure you remain confident and on track throughout the entire program.
Comprehensive Notes & Homework
After each session, you receive detailed written summaries and practical homework that outline your progress and next steps, ensuring consistency and clear communication.
What You Will Learn:
Home & Manners Essentials
• Master potty and crate/playpen routines.
• Apply techniques for bite inhibition and gentle play.

Carmen
Carmen, a sweet senior cat, was very shy around new people. Her owners wanted us to not only feed her but also provide company and playtime while they were away.
On our first visit, Carmen hid in her cat tree. Our experienced sitter moved slowly and spoke in a soft voice, using treats to gradually earn her trust. It took patience, but by respecting her space and showing her we were a source of comfort, our sitter successfully won her over.
Now, Carmen happily greets her sitter for pets and playtime, making her time alone much more enjoyable. It's moments like these that remind us what our work is all about

Felix
Felix, a sweet 9-year-old who was struggling with sensory triggers and social anxiety, making walks a stressful experience. His owner wanted him to feel more at ease and confident around other dogs.
Our dedicated walker took the time to build a strong, trusting bond with Felix. Using positive reinforcement and his favorite treats, we rewarded his calm behavior and created positive associations with situations that once triggered his anxiety.
Now, Felix happily explores his neighborhood, greeting other dogs with a calm and peaceful demeanor. His journey is a true testament to the power of patience and understanding.
